I have just discovered the K9 Spam Filter!

It works by checking every email that comes in to your computer and tags emails that it thinks is spam. Then you can sort the spam from the rest with your message rules in your email program.

You then train it what is spam and what is real email, and it starts to learn how to spot spam, making your inbox cleaner and cleaner.

I've only had it on a few days but it is working well already :)

OK, so I know that plugging funny websites is the cornerstone of blogging, but I havent been tempted to go down that road in the past... this one, however, is a classic! Pack your bags and get ready to attend the 3rd Annual Nigerian EMail Conference!
I have teamed up with Ann Knight to produce a guide to Buying Property in Spain, Real Estate in Spain. This will add value to the site for my readers and also targets a new area in the search engines.

In my opinion, good visitor statistics are essential for doing any kind of traffic building exercises on the web. I took on a client recently that was hosting their website with a small local company that didnt provide any decent log analyzing software with the hosting, but the client was unwilling to move hosts as the hosting company provided technical support as well as the hosting.

So I asked around and Hitslink was recommended as a web stats solution that does not need access to the server or the log files.

You embed a piece of javascript in to each page and let the software do its job.

The information that you get from these guys is incredible. It is at least as goog as the info I get from other software such as Matrix Stats and Urchin, if not better!

The only down side is that the price goes up as the site gets busier, but if you can pass this info on to the client, then great! I'll be recommending that clients go with this software in future. I hope this is helpful!
Canada Travel Guide is a new site launched today by a friend of mine, James Shearer. It is a complement to his already sucessful Trail Canada.

James's Canadian travel guides are essential reading for anyone travelling to Canada.

Google AdSense is my latest addiction. At the moment I seem to be logging in to my account at least 20 times a day (at least it's better than smoking!).

I'm sure the novelty will wear off, but its nice to see the pennies rolling in :)

Rob's New Blog!

I have finally got round to updating my main news page to one powered by Blogger. For those not familar with blogger, it is Web-based software that makes publishing easy from anywhere. It will also allow me to maintain an archive of past posts.

First, the formalities ... my old news section was the only link I had to my old site, which is only worth a look if you are interested to see how much I have stripped down my site. The main reason for this was to enable me to start learning how to design effectively using CSS only. I'm afraid I am a table-o-holic, but am trying to kick the habit.

Since I have moved to Spain, I have constructed a good number of websites. I am really obliged to link to them, as part of my search engine promotion efforts. These are (in no particular order) Map of Spain, Malaga Hotels and Holidays, Buzz car hire (car hire in Spain), Hotels in Marbella, Hotels in Puerto Banus, In Spain (Travel information) and Car rental Malaga (with Malaga travel guide). I am also still doing ongoing work for Executive Golf Holidays in Marbella.

Right, now time to move on ...
